Ive collected a couple of 147 manual versions with stiff gear linkage and discovered through these threads that the plastic bushes by the linkage on the gearbox end can need replacing fixing the problem, takes about an hour costing peanuts which is what ive done to good effect. Next up is the air leak hunt, also I read that a dirty pcv valve can also cause idle problems (that would cause high idle rpm, but I found a 156 jts video where the engine stalled beacuse of this).
